Frank Barnes Jr., OD received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1986 from the State University of New York , College of Optometry. After completing his internship training in low vision in 1985 from The Lighthouse in New York, he received the Feinbloom Designs for Vision award for excellence in low vision. Dr. Barnes is a panel provider for the New Jersey Commision for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Dr. Barnes received his BA degree in Chemistry in 1982 from the College of Holy Cross. Dr. Barnes has served on the Montclair Health Advisory, the Head Start Health Advisory Board, the Montclair Township Master Plan Committee. He is the past Secretary of the Essex County Optometric Society. The Barnes and Carter Eye Care Center received the Montclair Economic Development Corporation 2008 Business Award.
Tanya Carter, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1987 from the State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed a residency in Ocular disease in 1988 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Albans, New York. Dr. Carter is an Associate Clinical Professor at the State University of New York College of Optometry where she is responsible for clinical teaching and serves as an Admissions Committee member. Dr. Carter received her BS degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Carter was featured in "What Blacks Must Know About Glaucoma," Jet Magazine, January 21, 2008.
